Tea for Two

Tea with the bestie last month. We went to Secret Garden in the city. We ordered two teas and the Bedford's Delight. Per usual, each platter had the scones on the bottom tray, sandwiches on the second tray and the desserts on the top tray. It was a beautiful day so we pulled over on a random street and took pictures. I don't know how some people do it outside the comforts of their own home. Lol soo many bystanders.

It's been relatively busy. Family and friends visited during the holidays, thank goodness I was able to take some days off to keep them company. My New Year's was completely unplanned. We did not purchase tickets anywhere, and those places free were ridiculously crowded. Somehow after our dinner at Wine Cellar in Los Gatos and our FAILED attempt to bar hop, we ended up at my house for some drinks and countdown. Here's what I wore for New Year's Eve. I would've taken pictures at home, but per usual, I got ready too late and rushed out of the house to make it in time for our reservations.

I'll have a blue blue Christmas

It's that time of year when everything is hectic and you feel like you just never have enough time! I've been super busy with work since everyone is trying to squeeze in their PTO. Not to mention I finished all my Christmas shopping TODAY! Well, minus the White Elephant gifts for my family's annual Christmas dinner. Talk about procrastination. The shopping gods must have been on my side today because I found parking right at the entrance of the mall as soon as I drove up the parking garage. EXCITE. Anyhow, since it was my day off, I went to the store to purchase what I needed to bake my team some cookies, ingredients for my dish I am bringing to my family's Christmas dinner then to the mall. So here is my outfit post!

December Wedding Bells

This Saturday was my cousin's wedding day. I was only able to take pictures of what I chose to wear in the evening. Not that many photos either, I always underestimate the time I need to get ready in time, I even forgot to put on earrings. -___- It's alright because it is not my day, it is the bride's day. Anyhow, I love weddings, they bring everyone together!

I love the meaning behind the cranes on each person's place setting. According to Japanese tradition, senbazuru is folding one thousand cranes. By completing this act before the wedding, the couple will ensure a blissful marriage. My cousin and her now husband must've spent hours folding these! Weddings that incorporate two different cultures, in this case Vietnamese and Japanese are always a learning and interesting experience.

I haven't had time to coordinate my outfits, plus I haven't gone anywhere that requires much dressing up. Here's another laid back 'fit. No need to see the front of the outfit since it's just a plain white tee. Not to mention, my shih tzu Keno would not leave me be!

And what is new with me...my new makeup organizer. It's the ALEX drawers from Ikea. Not pricey either. Six drawers total, top three is organized while bottom three is not. I love it so far; I just hope it stays neat. More images on my Tumblr.

These pictures were taken with my phone, again. I know. This is why I really need to get an iPhone 4s but that battery life is NOT worth it yet. I think I'll hold off until they fix that issue. Today is the first day of my three day weekend. 11.11.11. Happy Veteran's Day!

We went to downtown Los Gatos to shop. This town is quaint and peaceful. The people however are quite pompous and rude. My friend opened the door for us to walk into a coffee shop and this group of people walked in before us and didn't even say thank you. I guess they own the world or something; manners please! We opened the door for us to walk in, NOT you. And we won't close it on you, but at least be courteous enough to express gratitude.

Anyhow we had a successful shopping day, we both found more than what we needed. As usual -__-

Halloween

The first night I chose to be a Pinup Girl. The hair took the longest. And my fake tattoo is still stuck on me. My friend went to F21 and found us those tops to wear for our outfits completely last minute. We were planning on just wearing a striped tube. Yay for her, life saver! Apologies for the quality of the pictures on this night, my mother came home unexpectedly and we snapped them and rushed out through the front door before she could see us. Lol no need for another "it's going to be cold, you're going to get sick, don't drink and drive" lecture. 

The second night we were Ventriloquist Dolls. We were able to find most of the items in each other's closet, minus my shorts and leggings. So overall, we didn't spend much this year on costumes. They're quite expensive! 

Kinda Casual

Casual day at work. Yay! Although casual DOESN'T REALLY MEAN CASUAL. With my title, I still have to incorporate a blazer or button up into my wardrobe. Since I wore a button up last time, I decided with a striped blazer. This was my first time wearing Simply Vera flats from Khols. -___- It hurt a lot. Not only that but it rubbed some skin off. Never buying cheap flats again. After work we went to eat dinner at Saizo. This Japanese restaurant offers grilled skewers of all sorts (deep fried quail eggs and pork belly are my fav). Plus they have a really tasty variety of high end sake. After that, we drove over to Campbell and explored their nightlife. Katie Blooms had a bartender that gave us a strawberry filled vodka with whip cream! Yummm =)

Yesterday consisted of pure dedication. To what? My Halloween costume of course! Can't wait til I get to wear it! We went to several stores to find what I needed. To my dismay, we found everything in one setting. Phew, less stress there. After shopping, we went to Honeyberry for some delicious Roti Buns and milk tea. But it was our day off, it wouldn't be one if we didn't find a happy hour place somewhere. So off we go. We ordered a ridiculously strong top shelf Long Island -_- Then headed to Shabuway for their all you can eat and more drinking, so warm sake and beer it was. It was a nice, enjoyable day. On the car ride home, boyf played Avicii - Levels. That song deserved my blog title =)

We went out for dinner at Yardhouse since a friend came back to visit from New York City. Oh why so far? But it was nice seeing her again. Even though it has been months since I haven't seen her, we had lots to talk about. No awkward silences there =) Can't wait til the 3 amigas are all in NYC together next year. Much EXCITMENT!
